LFA Open with 4-1 Win in Donegal

Published: Friday, 20 October 2017 21:14
The LFA Youth squad opened their campaign in the FAI Youth Inter Pros with a well organised and competent 4-1 victory over Connacht. Played in desperate weather conditions, Leinster always controlled the game and took the lead when a Connacht defender deflected into his own net and a goal from John Barry made it 2-0 before the break. Second half goals from Marlon Marishou and Shane Farrell had Leinster cruising 4-0 and although Connacht did score one near the end, Leinster are off to a winning start and now take on Ulster tomrrow at 2pm

The Leinster FA are the oldest football association in the Republic of Ireland and predates the FAI by almost thirty years with members of the LFA very instrumental in the formation of the National Association in 1921
